Anger Control Seminar

anger_controlProgram Details
Anger is the single most destructive element in life. It destroys relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, brothers and sisters, kids in school and adults in the workplace. When anger is prolonged, it literally poisons our bodies and leads to depression and violence. In fact, everyone needing psychological or psychiatric help is intensely angry with one or more people in their lives. Jails are full of individuals who could not control their anger.

Teaching anger control is the single most valuable service therapists can provide their clients. However, getting people to stop being angry is easier said than done. Many clients continue to be angry even after months and years of therapy. Therapists are not immune to anger problems, either. They suffer from the same kinds of problems as clients. They also have failing marriages, their children drive us crazy, they have difficulty getting along with parents and siblings and they have ongoing conflicts with their bosses. How can therapist help his clients when he don't know how to solve his own problems?

anger_controlThe most fun and effective way ever devised for teaching anger control is Izzy Kalman's "game." This role-playing technique teaches people how not to get angry in the first place, rather than having people "control" their anger by such devices as counting to 10 or deep breathing. The technique does this by taking advantage of the individual's overriding biological need to win. When people find out that anger makes them lose, and that there is an effortless way to win, they don't want to be angry any more. Izzy Kalman's "game" accomplishes in one session what is often missed in months and years of regular talking therapy. Participants in this comprehensive seminar will learn to see anger in a whole new light, through extensive use of role-playing. The "game" will also give them a tool that can literally multiply their value and effectiveness as therapists.
