Student Training Abroad

intl6Students and college graduates today have a great opportunity to do training or internship abroad in their specialty area and at the same time improve their foreign language. In addition to the work experience and language practice, interns get acquainted with new culture, its principles of business management and, finally, make valuable business contacts.

There are a great number of training abroad programs. They are developed by the countries interested in the dissemination of their principles and models of business management and administrative work. These programs are held by the nation and foreign organizations which are mediators between the department of various countries and the consumers.

All the programs are designed to provide young professionals with the knowledge and experience, which they can implement to set up a business or take active part in the social and political life in their native countries. However, it is also possible that the host company likes you and you will be offered to stay and work in it. This method of education and exchange is practiced in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Malta, Spain, Italy, France and other countries.

The host companies and organizations offer a wide variety of fields in which interns can receive training, including: medical services, education, business, finance, management, bookkeeping, marketing, librarianship, legal studies, media, typography, public relations, web design, show and art business, civil engineering, programming, IT, design and architecture and many others.

Every country treats interns differently. Thus, in Europe students undergoing training usually are not paid – they provide their own accommodation and life expenses. Moreover, the requirement is to study a foreign language and subjects closely related to the profession. Trainings and internships are usually short-term lasting several months, upon completion of which interns receive certificates. In the USA, interns are treated as employees and are paid for their training. Canada, Australia and New Zealand also provide several training programs for students to get practical experience in a certain professional field. Programs in Australia and New Zealand are longer and offer an opportunity to travel after the training is over.
