Such course as CareFirst and CareFirst BlueChoice offer half-day seminars and training sessions. It is designed to familiarize professional providers and office staff with CareFirst policy and provider oriented procedures. Such seminars offer a great number of different types of seminars. Also there are training sessions to appeal the needs of our versatile provider community. These seminar and training session types are listed below accompanied by a brief description. Also there is identification code to assist in the selection of the appropriate seminar or training session for your specific needs.
• B to B - Back to Basics Seminars. That is such seminar that designed to introduce the professional providers CareFirst's full portfolio of products, claims submission procedures, coordination of benefits and administrative policies. Also it designed to introduce quality improvement, the latest information on BlueCard and more. It is an excellent "new provider staff" or "provider refresher" tool. • Update - "Update Me" Seminars. This seminar is designed to update professional providers of CareFirst changes. • M - Medicare Advantage. This seminar is designed to introduce and educate all providers on the new Medi-CareFirst Advantage products. • SOH - Services open house. Such seminar is designed to provide professional and institutional products. Moreover it will be with deeper information in electronic claims solutions. CareFirst Provider Representatives and electronic vendors will be available in this way. • PT/OT/ST/Chiro - Specialty Seminars is designed to update professional providers in specific PT/OT/ST/Chiro CareFirst updates and changes. • OB/GYN - Specialty Seminars is designed to update professional providers in specific OB/GYN CareFirst updated and changes. • Webinar - A Web Based Training. Such seminar is designed to present CareFirst policies and procedures to professional and institutional providers, within the comforts of their own office workspace. It will be one half hour long, but participants should allow for log on and instruction time. You will receive instructions after enrolling from 1 day prior to the presentation date via email. There are four webinar types that offer: 1. Blue Choice - all BlueChoice products and a review of referrals and authorizations. 2. MPOS - Maryland Point of Service - explanation of product and review of referrals and authorizations. 3. CareFirst Direct - Perform eligibility and benefits for local and out-of-area members. 4. Professional Specialty: PT/OT/ST/Chiro, OB/Gyn and Anesthesia - information specific to these specialties. Webinars are CareFirst Quality Rewards qualitfied web-based office staff training modules. • CFD Training - CareFirst Direct Training. It is designed to instruct CareFirst professional and institutional providers on the dynamics of CareFirst Direct. Also it is designed to make easy navigation through the system. This is a hands-on training. Enrollees must bring their CareFirst Direct log-on and patient information (claims) to the class. Refreshment will not be served. Covered drinks are permitted.
