 Usually children go to therapy for a variety of reasons, from behavior problems to common childhood disorders such as ADHD, autism and attachment issues. Therapists and educators with all the available treatments out there might not have time to come up with all the different interventions needed to engage and assist clients. Co-morbidity can further complicate the treatment process, as well as conducting therapy with parents who bring their own schemas/past experiences into the therapy experience. Therapists who work with children must be able to quickly and accurately determine what will work best, not only for the child but also for the environment and support group that will have ongoing interaction with the child.
