| How to Carry on a Seminar | ● Use handouts Notice that the speaker may also prepare handouts which should contain all main points of the seminar and a list of reference books used for the seminar preparation. This will help the audience to recollect and investigate the same topic later on.
● Your voice listening It is helpful for the speaker to listen to his seminar using a dictaphone or a tape recorder. This helps to determine parts of the presentation which do not sound right and should be corrected. But if a seminar sounds interesting to a speaker, he/she may be quite sure that it will be interesting for the audience.
● Note the plan of your seminar The speaker should give a a brief ideas on the important points of the speech and tell how long this is going to take and only after this the speaker may proceed to the introduction. The presenter may also emphasize the benefits the audience will get by attending the seminar.
● Style of speaking The main rule is that the speaker should be well-heard and well-seen. Otherwise, the speaker has a risk to lose the audience’s interest. The speaker is also should be relaxed and ready to give as many examples as possible. All attention of the speaker must be on the audience. It is very important to make eye contact as often as possible. The speaker should avoid asking the audience questions and organizing discussions during the seminar as it is the speaker who should speak not the audience. As for audience, people may write down their questions and ask during a Question answer session after the seminar.
● When the seminar is over Well, it is time for the speaker to see whether his seminar was interesting for his audience during the Question answer session.
